The Ghana Property Awards (GAPOA) is an annual Awards series for Ghana Real Estate, Property & Construction Sectors. The only property awards scheme in Africa, GAPOA is set to celebrate its 6^th year anniversary this year. Started in 0ctober 2007, the awards has grown to become the biggest industry awards scheme and the measuring rod for the success of practitioners and stakeholders in the real estate industry.

Organised by Property Express Group Ltd in collaboration with the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA), Ministry Of Water Resources, Works & Housing and other stakeholders, the Awards was set up to encourage competition and competitive pricing in the Property & Construction Industry. The Awards categorization is carefully designed to recognize the efforts of both established and up & coming firms.

In addition to Awarding the Property Industry, GAPOA also serves as a convergence platform for the Industry. The Awards recognizes, appreciates and awards the hardworking, excellent and innovative Firms and Personalities in the Real Estate Sector. The Awards also serves as a platform for the Property Sector especially GREDA to address some concerns and channel its grievances and petitions to the Ministry of Housing. GAPOA also serves as a platform for the government to engage with the Developers.

Over the years, GAPOA has sought to standardize practices in the Real Estate Sector by setting benchmarks, which submitted projects must adhere to. GAPOA has also sought to promote innovativeness, insurance and maintenance cultures in the Sector by putting weights on these in the judging process.

Thw awards scheme will also be looking at new market development with the aim to support the promotion of wholesale and retail market operations, allowing for better recognition of their vital role, support and contribution to national, regional and global emand for property and its related services as the Ghana government seek to accelerate infrastructure development in Ghana.

The theme for the 2013 awards is "Accelerating Infrastructural Development through Private Public Partnership for Job Creation and Economic Fortification".

This year's event promises a SURPRISE!!

Past Winners of the Awards have been from diverse Firms within the Property & Construction Sector including Mortgage Firms, Paint Firms, Residential Developers, Commercial Developers, Property Brokers / Estate Agents, Input Suppliers, Retail Developments, Facility Managers, Architectural Firms, Landscapers, etc.

As has been the tradition over the last 5 years, all awards will be presented at the grand awards dinner night at the State House on the 26^th of Ocotober, 2013.
